Large portable generators can run most of a house through a transfer switch, often including a central air conditioner, an electric water heater or a well pump alongside everything else, and many add a 14-50R outlet for a 50 A RV or a 50 A inlet. They burn a gallon of gasoline an hour or more under load, so a big tank and a propane or natural gas option matter more here, and at 200 lb or more they stay where they’re parked.
