Best 48 Amp Level 2 EV Chargers Ranked

12 Level 2 EV chargers rated 48 A (11.5 kW) or more.

Last updated: October 22, 2026

A 48 A charger needs a hardwired 60 A circuit and delivers 11.5 kW, about 20% faster than a 40 A unit, but only if the car’s onboard charger can take it: many EVs top out at 32 or 40 A. It’s worth it for long-range trucks and SUVs with big batteries, or for two EVs sharing one charger. Check your panel’s spare capacity first; load sharing can let two chargers split one circuit.
