Best Robot Mowers for Small Lawns Ranked

21 robot mowers rated for lawns up to about 1/4 acre.

Last updated: October 21, 2026

A quarter acre is about 11,000 square feet, enough for most suburban front and back yards. These are the cheapest robot mowers to buy, though usually the most expensive per acre. Several small yards joined by a path or a driveway need a mower that handles multiple zones, which most here do, and a narrow side passage needs one whose navigation holds up beside the house: LiDAR or cameras do better there than RTK alone.

Prices were last checked October 21, 2026 and are subject to change; the price and availability shown by the retailer at the time of purchase apply.
