Best Fan Space Heaters Ranked

43 ceramic, tower and fan-forced infrared heaters.

Last updated: October 30, 2026

A fan heater blows air over a hot element, usually a ceramic (PTC) plate, and pushes it into the room, so you feel warm air within seconds and a small room warms up in minutes. Towers spread the heat further, and many oscillate. The fan makes some noise and dries the air a little, and the heat stops as soon as the heater does. Cabinet heaters sold as “infrared” with a quartz element and a blower belong here too: once the fan blows it out, the heat is warm air like any other fan heater’s.
