Best Diode Laser Engravers Ranked

18 diode laser engravers.

Last updated: November 2, 2026

A diode laser engraver uses a blue semiconductor laser, from about 5 W to 60 W of optical output, and runs from a wall adapter. Open frame machines are cheap and have big beds but need safety glasses and good ventilation; enclosed machines cost more and keep the beam and smoke inside. Diodes engrave wood, leather, slate and coated metal and cut plywood, but the beam passes through clear acrylic and glass, so they can’t cut those. Some add a small infrared laser for marking bare metal and plastic; only the diode’s output is scored.
