Best Pole Saws Ranked

28 battery and gas pole saws, scored on price per foot of reach, reach, bar length, weight and warranty.

Last updated: October 31, 2026

A pole saw puts a small chainsaw on the end of a pole, so you can cut limbs overhead from the ground instead of a ladder. These rankings compare what the makers publish on the same terms: how much reach you get for the money, how high it reaches, the bar length, the weight and how long it’s covered.

Reach is the first spec to check. Makers state an overhead reach that adds a standing person to the tool’s length; a reach of 13 to 15 ft clears the lower limbs of most yard trees.

Weight matters more on a pole than anywhere else, because it is held out at arm’s length. A light saw is easier to control and less tiring overhead.
