A roof mount solar attic fan fits a round hole cut in the roof deck near the ridge, under a flashed hood with the solar panel on top. The panel gets full sun and the fan exhausts straight out of the roof, so it suits attics without a gable vent or where the gable faces away from the sun. A panel that tilts helps on a roof slope facing east or west, and the flashing has to match the roof: most fit shingles, and tile or low slope roofs often need an adapter.
