Viqua VH410M

The monitored version of Viqua’s large home unit, for well owners who want to know the dose is actually being delivered. Worth the premium over the plain VH410 if no one checks the water regularly.

Pros
  • A UV sensor reads the actual intensity, so a dirty sleeve or failing lamp shows up before the dose drops unnoticed
  • Can drive a shutoff valve that stops water if UV falls too low
  • 14 GPM at the full 40 mJ/cm² dose covers a large home
  • Shows days left on the lamp and alarms if the lamp fails
Cons
  • The shutoff valve is an extra purchase
  • A genuine S410RL-HO lamp costs about $160 on Amazon every year
  • Not NSF certified; only the separate VH410M-V version is, and only to Class B
