A UV purifier rated over 12 GPM suits a large home, a well that also feeds irrigation or livestock, or a small business. Higher flow takes a longer chamber or a more powerful lamp, so these units cost more and need more wall length and clearance for lamp changes. At this size a UV sensor and a shutoff valve are worth having, since more people depend on the water and a failure is less likely to be noticed.
