A large band mill takes logs over 26 in across, and the biggest here take 41 in, with a longer blade and an engine of 14 to 25 hp to pull it through wide cuts. Many offer a powered head lift or power feed, as standard or as an option, and at 800 to 1,500 lb they are usually set up once and left in place or moved on a trailer.
