A hitch cargo box is a closed, lockable box that rides on the back of the vehicle, either on its own hitch arm or strapped to a cargo basket. It keeps luggage and gear dry and out of sight without the lift of a roof box, and it adds no wind noise up top. Boxes are ranked here on cubic feet of space, since their load rating is usually set by your hitch rather than the box.
