Best Urine-Diverting Composting Toilets Ranked

19 urine-diverting toilets.

Last updated: October 31, 2026

A urine-diverting toilet has a split bowl: liquids run forward into a bottle or a drain line, solids drop into a bin lined with coir, peat or sawdust. Keeping the two apart is what stops the smell, and a small vent fan pulls moisture and odor outside. Most fit in a van or boat head, and a few need no power at all. Expect to empty the urine bottle every day or two for two people, and the solids bin every few weeks.
