Best Sewer Inspection Cameras Ranked

31 push rod sewer and drain inspection cameras, scored on price, cable, locating features, monitor and warranty.

Last updated: November 3, 2026

A sewer inspection camera pushes a waterproof camera head down a drain on a stiff cable that winds onto a reel, and shows the inside of the pipe on a monitor. It lets you see a root, a belly, a crack or a lost toy before you dig or call a plumber. These rankings cover push rod cameras on a reel from about $200 up. Handheld borescopes on a short cable, crawler systems and drain cleaning machines are not included. They compare what the makers publish on the same terms: what each costs, how much cable it has, what it can tell you about where a fault is, how big its screen is, and how long it’s covered.

Cable length is the first choice. 100 ft reaches through most houses and out to the street on a short lateral. A long lateral, a rural lot or a commercial run needs 165 ft or more. A thicker cable is stiffer, so it pushes further through bends and standing water.

Locating is the second. A sonde is a small transmitter behind the camera head. A matching locator held above ground finds it, so you can mark exactly where to dig. A distance counter shows how far the head is from the reel. Cameras without them show what is wrong but not where.

Self-leveling is the third. A self-leveling head keeps the picture upright as the cable twists, which makes a long run much easier to follow.

Most cameras here quote 1080P, but that is often the output signal and not what the camera sensor resolves. Resolution is listed but not scored.
