A push mower turns its blade with an engine, battery or motor, but you supply the forward motion. That makes it lighter, simpler and cheaper than a self-propelled mower, and a good fit for small, flat lawns. On a slope or with a full grass bag it takes real effort, so for a bigger lawn look at self-propelled models.
