The standard replacement for a 35,000 BTU Suburban SF furnace where the exterior service door stays.
Amazon $929.99Most RVs, travel trailers and campers heat with a built-in propane furnace that sits in a cabinet cutout and pushes warm air through short duct runs or a grille. When one fails, replacing it is usually a swap within the same cutout, so the real choices are size, price and how much of your battery it uses. These rankings compare what the makers and sellers publish on the same terms.
Size comes first. A 25,000 to 30,000 BTU furnace suits most travel trailers up to about 33 ft; 35,000 BTU and up suits long trailers, fifth wheels and cold-weather use, and under 25,000 BTU suits vans and small campers.
Amp draw matters off the grid. The blower runs on 12 V DC, so a furnace that draws 7 A drains a battery bank far faster overnight than one that draws 3 A. Many sellers don’t publish the figure, and the product page says so when that’s the case.
Cutout and door decide whether a unit fits. Check your cutout size, whether your RV has an exterior service door, and whether the furnace is ducted or direct discharge before you buy. Replacement cores sold without the housing and blower aren’t ranked.
