Best Tractor Mowers and Snow Blowers Ranked

35 PTO flail mowers, rotary cutters, finish mowers and snow blowers for compact tractors, scored on price per inch of width, width, capacity, features and warranty.

Last updated: November 3, 2026

A compact or utility tractor does its mowing and snow clearing with rear implements that hook to the 3-point hitch and run from the PTO. The big names in this market sell through dealers with no published prices, so these rankings cover the implements that list a price and a spec sheet on Amazon: Titan Attachments, MechMaxx, TMG, NorTrac, Ag-Rite, BILT HARD and a long tail of lesser-known brands.

Implement is the first choice. A flail mower swings many small hammers or Y-blades on a rotor, mulches grass, weeds and light brush, and throws little debris; offset ditch-bank models reach banks and fence lines. A rotary cutter (a brush hog) spins one or two big blades under a steel deck to cut brush and saplings and is tougher on rocks; a finish mower is the wheeled, low-cut version for lawns. A snow blower augers snow into an impeller and throws it from an adjustable chute. Each is ranked on its own.

Tractor size is the second. Listings give a horsepower range at the PTO shaft; the small flails start at 15 hp, while the wide offset and snow models want 35 to 70 hp or more. The hitch category matters too: most implements here are Category 1, and a few fit Category 2 as well.

Price per inch of width is how the score judges value, because a 72 in mower and a 37 in mower are not the same purchase. The spread is wide: from about $19 per inch for a basic Y-blade flail to $77 for a hydraulic offset flail.

A caution that applies to the whole category: several flails sold under different names are the same EF-series design, and most listings give no warranty, weight or cutting capacity. Where a figure isn’t published here it is marked, not guessed.
